Continuity of Cardiac Care During Hajj Season Supported by 2,800 Virtual Appointments

King Abdullah Medical City, part of the Makkah Health Cluster, conducted more than 2,800 virtual appointments during the first week of the 1446 AH Hajj season, part of ongoing efforts to maintain continuity of specialized care and promote health awareness and preventive services for beneficiaries both within and beyond the Makkah region.

The Makkah Health Cluster noted that the medical city's virtual services included not only telehealth appointments but also remote monitoring of cardiac catheterization patients through advanced technologies, such as smartwatches, that allow for continuous tracking of vital signs while upholding strict privacy standards.

The service enabled many pilgrims to perform their rituals under the supervision of a specialized medical team without requiring hospitalization, reflecting an innovative "care from anywhere" model.
