GEA Holds 536 Events with 8.3 Million Attendees in Third Quarter
The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) announced that it organized 536 events in various regions throughout Saudi Arabia, drawing 8.3 million visitors in the third quarter (Q3) of this year.
The GEA highlighted its significant accomplishments in its Q3 2024 report, noting a surge in licensing requests to 9,000, marking a 20% increase from the previous quarter's 7,498 licenses.
Furthermore, the number of licenses issued reached 1,827 in Q3 2024, representing a 5.7% rise from the same period last year. The issued licenses encompassed 481 for entertainment events, 412 for recreational shows, 567 for live performances in dining establishments, and 82 for crowd management.
The report noted GEA registration of 5,225 companies operating within the entertainment sector, while the count of licensed entertainment cities rose to 106.
In the July-September period, the GEA conducted 21,749 inspection visits in various cities, a 3.9% increase from the preceding quarter, with Riyadh leading with 7,108 visits, followed by Makkah with 6,222 visits.
Meanwhile, the GEA programs categorized over 250 investors in the entertainment sector alongside 455 entertainment activities with the GEA striving to elevate the quality of entertainment offerings and ensure the delivery of highly professional recreational experiences.
The GEA's advancing organizational and entertainment performance reflects the entertainment sector enhancement efforts in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
