Saudi International Handicrafts Week Exhibition Opens in Riyadh; 25 Countries and over 500 Artisans Take Part

The Saudi Heritage Commission inaugurated Saturday evening the second edition of the Saudi International Handicrafts Week Exhibition (Banan), which showcases handicrafts and artisanal industries.
The event aims to support artisans by displaying their creations and honing their skills. It is being held at the Roshan Front in Riyadh until November 29.
The exhibition features a diverse range of pavilions and activities to enrich visitors' experiences, including the Handicrafts Arts Village, a Live Craft Performances Pavilion, a Crafts Exhibition, a Craft Workshops Pavilion, an Interactive Experiences Zone, and a platform for entrepreneurs and craft institutions. It also features a dedicated Children's Pavilion that holds activities tailored for young visitors.
Over 500 artisans from Saudi Arabia are participating in Banan, alongside representatives from 25 countries.
This unique platform celebrates traditional handicrafts, and is a financial support for artisans who are thus able to market their products.
The Heritage Commission aims to raise awareness about the significance of handicrafts as an integral part of the intangible cultural heritage, to ensure their preservation and transmission to future generations.
The Heritage Commission emphasized that the Banan exhibition reflects its commitment to developing the handicrafts sector, in line with the goals of the National Cultural Strategy, derived from Saudi Vision 2030.
The exhibition aspires to be a distinguished cultural event that enhances Saudi Arabia's prominence on the international stage in the field of handicrafts.
The exhibition is open daily from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, except on Mondays and Wednesdays when it opens from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm.
