Aseer Road and Public Facility Humanization Projects Enhance Quality of Life, Boost Economy

Projects to humanize roads and public facilities and improve the urban landscape have become a cornerstone of efforts to enhance quality of life and stimulate economic and commercial activity across Aseer's cities, according to Aseer Municipality.

The initiatives form part of the municipality's ongoing efforts to enhance the urban environment and improve the experience of residents and visitors.

Mayor of Aseer Region Eng. Abdullah Al-Jali said the municipality began implementing urban landscape improvement projects in 2022. The initiatives include upgrades to roads, sidewalks, street lighting, public facilities, and human-centered elements, creating safer and more vibrant public spaces while enhancing the appeal of tourist and commercial destinations.

Al-Jali said the humanization projects have evolved beyond aesthetic enhancements to become an effective tool for supporting the local economy and stimulating commercial activity. He added that they improve the efficiency of public spaces and enrich the user experience in urban areas and tourist destinations.

The municipality has implemented the projects across several cities and governorates in the region, including Abha, Khamis Mushait, Muhayil, Bisha, Al-Majardah, and Sarat Abidah, as well as other locations. The projects have contributed to improving the urban landscape, enhancing quality of life, and boosting commercial activity, he said.

Al-Jali added that upgrading roads, public facilities, street lighting, and pedestrian walkways directly supports the tourism season. These improvements help create a more organized and comfortable urban environment while enhancing the readiness of destinations to accommodate growing numbers of visitors during the summer.

The projects form part of an integrated strategy being implemented by the municipality in coordination with Aseer Development Authority to upgrade infrastructure and municipal services, further enhancing the efficiency of public facilities in line with the region's growing tourism and investment sectors.
