King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language Signs MoU with the Muslim World League to Cooperate in Serving Arabic Language

King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language signed a memorandum of understanding with the Muslim World League in Riyadh today, in a move that highlights the KSGAAL's commitment to expanding its international partnerships and strengthening institutional integration in the service of the Arabic language, thereby supporting its presence in scientific, educational and technical contexts at both regional and international levels.

The KSGAAL was represented at the signing by Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ibrahim bin Muhammad Abanmi, whilst the MWL was represented by Assistant Secretary General for Institutional Communication Abdulwahab bin Muhammad Al-Shahri.

His Excellency the Secretary General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, His Eminence Sheikh Dr Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, expressed the MWL's pride in its partnership with the KSGAAL, praising the KSGAAL's commendable efforts and significant role in serving the Arabic language worldwide through effective programmes and initiatives with a tangible impact, which have cemented the authentic linguistic identity and strengthened its international presence at various levels.

 For his part, the Secretary General of the KSGAAL, Dr Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, explained that the linguistic efforts undertaken by the KSGAAL, including building strategic partnerships with international organisations and promoting integrated work in the service of the Arabic language, are carried out with the continuous support and guidance of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the KSGAAL's Board of Trustees, in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030. He noted that cooperation with the MWL represents an opportunity to expand the scope of joint work and develop impactful linguistic initiatives that contribute to supporting Arabic language education and facilitating its use in academic and technical contexts.

This memorandum aims to develop cooperation between the two parties in the fields of Arabic language services and to strengthen its presence in educational and scientific environments; by establishing a structured framework for joint work that supports the exchange of expertise, and contributes to the development of quality programmes and initiatives, and enables the use of the Arabic language in its specialised fields; thereby achieving mutual benefit and enhancing the efficiency of linguistic practices in relevant institutions.

The areas of cooperation include a number of key themes, most notably: the computerisation of the Arabic language, the development of digital dictionaries and linguistic corpora, the teaching of Arabic to non-native speakers, the implementation of language proficiency tests, and the exchange of linguistic services and consultancy; thereby highlighting the comprehensiveness of linguistic work and its integration across educational, technical and research aspects, and enabling both parties to develop joint programmes that contribute to the achievement of their objectives.

 This memorandum forms part of the KSGAAL's efforts to strengthen its international presence and activate impactful institutional partnerships, thereby supporting the development of linguistic content and consolidating the status of the Arabic language in various fields.

In this context, His Excellency Sheikh Dr Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa met with the KSGAAL's Secretary General, Dr Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, and they discussed a number of topics of mutual interest.
