'Redrawing the Boundaries' Exhibit in Jeddah Highlights Gulf's Modern Art Evolution

The "Redrawing the Boundaries" exhibition at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah explores the evolution of modern art in the Gulf region and its 20th-century artistic movements. The exhibition runs until October 13, 2025, and provides an in-depth analysis of modern art developments in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar.

 Focusing on key moments when artistic practices intersected during the foundational stages of state-building in the region, the exhibition illustrates how the interaction between tradition and modernity shaped unique creative expressions. It features over 50 artists who influenced modern artistic currents in the Gulf, highlighting their contributions to the cultural movement and the establishment of sustainable artistic and societal structures across the Arabian Peninsula.
