Umm Al-Qura University Wins Anthology Global Award in Educational Technology

Umm Al-Qura University has achieved a scientific milestone by winning the Student Success award in the 2025 Catalyst Awards presented by Anthology, a global leader in educational technology, in recognition of a distinguished initiative submitted by the university’s Deanship of Information Technology and E-Learning.
 The Student Success award is granted to educational institutions that enhance student outcomes through technological solutions by improving the learning experience, raising educational quality standards, and supporting academic processes.
 The university earned the award for its innovative initiative that uses artificial intelligence to detect early signs of student underperformance and categorize students based on their academic performance. The system then automatically delivers tailored educational paths before exam periods. Implemented across several academic departments, the initiative has successfully addressed nearly 98% of student underperformance cases.
 This year’s Catalyst Awards saw strong competition, with 161 educational institutions from 13 countries participating across nine award categories. A total of 32 institutions were selected as winners.
