SDAIA Issues Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026’s Guidelines to Unify National Efforts and Showcase Saudi Leadership in Advanced Technologies

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has issued comprehensive guidelines highlighting the importance of the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026 and outlining its strategic objectives and messages for diverse segments of society and entities across Saudi Arabia. The guidelines are intended to unify national efforts to raise awareness of the importance of AI technologies and promote high-impact initiatives and programs that deploy these technologies at scale, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s advanced standing in this field in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

According to a press release issued by the SDAIA today, the guidelines follow the Cabinet’s approval on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, to designate 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence in Saudi Arabia. This decision reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening its position as a global hub for data and AI and moving toward a leading role among data- and AI-driven economies.

Designating 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence comes as these technologies take center stage globally, driving economic growth, advancing societies, supporting sustainable development, and boosting national competitiveness. Saudi Arabia is rising to this momentum through an ambitious national data and AI strategy that positions it to build a modern knowledge-based economy, accelerate national progress, and play a leading role in shaping the future of these technologies.

The guidelines outline a national roadmap that unifies the efforts of government, the private sector, non-profit entities, and individuals to generate a broad and lasting impact. They achieve this by coordinating data- and AI-related initiatives and programs within a structured national framework that ensures alignment among entities. They also maximize the value of the Year of Artificial Intelligence as a key national occasion to highlight this sector as a promising driver of development and economic growth for Saudi Arabia.

The release added that the guidelines also provide guidelines for using the visual identity of the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026, covering design elements, approved standards, and their application across media materials, digital platforms, and promotional content. This aims to strengthen national media and communication messaging and present a unified image of Saudi Arabia’s efforts in this rapidly growing, high-impact field on the local and global stages.

The guidelines help establish a consistent communications presence across the activities of all entities in Saudi Arabia, showcasing their AI efforts through aligned tracks. They provide these activities with a unified professional identity that target audiences can easily recognize and engage with, while also enhancing Saudi Arabia’s global position as a leader in these advanced technologies.

SDAIA called on everyone to utilize these guidelines, adopt them as a unified national reference for implementing the Year of Artificial Intelligence initiatives, and actively contribute to achieving its objectives in a manner that reflects the spirit of collective national effort.
