HRH the Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session in Jeddah
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, chaired the cabinet session held in Jeddah on Tuesday.
During the session, the cabinet reviewed the outcomes of the discussions and meetings held in recent days between the Kingdom and various countries and organizations.
The review focused on friendship ties; bilateral and multilateral cooperation relations in all fields, especially concerning international security and stability; and promoting principles of development, progress, and cultural advancement in all areas.
The cabinet followed up on the latest events and developments regionally and internationally, reiterating what the Kingdom has confirmed during its participation in the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) meetings. This includes emphasizing the importance of all efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings, pursue a just and lasting peace, and enable the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights in establishing an internationally recognized independent state.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the Cabinet session, Minister of Media Salman bin Youssef Al-Dossary indicated that the Cabinet addressed local affairs, including ongoing programs and initiatives aimed at present development and future readiness.
This encompasses enhancing infrastructure, improving service quality for citizens and residents, developing promising sectors, advancing telecommunications technologies, attracting investments, and stimulating national industries, the minister noted.
Moreover, the cabinet commended efforts towards enhancing the participation of Saudi youth in development paths, empowering the labor market to accommodate more national workers, and reducing the unemployment rate, which is close to the target set by the Saudi Vision 2030 at 7 percent.
The cabinet also reviewed its agenda items, some co-studied by the Shura Council, and was briefed on the conclusions reached by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, the Council for Political and Security Affairs, the Cabinet's General Committee and the Cabinet's Bureau of Experts.
The cabinet issued the following decisions:
First:
Authorizing the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) chairman of the Board of Directors, or a deputy, to sign a draft memorandum of cooperation between the foundation and the Republic of Kazakhstan National Archive.
Second:
Approving a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cultural cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Culture and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.
Third:
Authorizing the minister of industry and mineral resources or a deputy to negotiate and sign two draft MoUs between the ministry and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Gabonese Republic Ministry of Oil, Gas, and Mines for cooperation in the field of mineral resources.
Fourth:
Approving an MoU between Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, and the Republic of Zimbabwe, represented by the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, regarding cooperation in mineral resources.
Fifth:
Approving an MoU for cooperation in the field of future transportation methods between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services and the People's Republic of China Ministry of Transport.
Sixth:
Authorizing the minister of transport and logistic services, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) chairman of the Board of Directors, or a deputy to negotiate a draft MoU for technical cooperation in the field of civil aviation between GACA and the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC).
Seventh:
Authorizing the minister of communications and information technology (IT), the Communications, Space and Technology Commission chairman of the Board of Directors, or a deputy to negotiate with the Hellenic side a draft MoU between the ministry and the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission in the field of communications and IT, and to sign it.
Eighth:
Approving an MoU between the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore for cooperation in the field of halal product quality assurance.
Ninth:
Authorizing the Human Rights Commission (HRC) president or a deputy to negotiate and sign a draft MoU between the HRC and the Republic of Tajikistan human-rights commission.
Tenth:
Approving a cooperation agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Presidency of State Security and the Republic of Tajikistan State Committee for National Security in the field of combating terrorism crimes and its financing.
Eleventh:
Authorizing the minister of education or a deputy to discuss with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) the establishment of a regional center for talent and creativity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Twelfth:
Authorizing the president of the Board of Grievances or a deputy to discuss with the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) a draft memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Board of Grievances and ARADO in the field of training and development and to sign it.
Thirteenth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of Singapore for cooperation in the field of human capital development and leadership development in the public sector in both countries.
