Saudi Arabia Celebrates World Post Day, Highlights SPL's Role as Logistics Enabler for Vision 2030
The Kingdom celebrated World Post Day, observed annually on October 9 to commemorate the 1874 founding of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in Bern, Switzerland.
The day highlights the pivotal role postal services play in supporting the economic and social development of individuals and businesses, and encourages member states to raise public awareness of postal functions. Saudi Arabia was a pioneer in this field, becoming the fifth Arab country to join the UPU in 1927.
To mark the occasion, commemorative stamps, special posters, conferences, and cultural events are held. As the national operator and a logistics and geospatial enabler, Saudi Post (SPL) has contributed to strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics platform.
Leveraging the Kingdom's strategic geographical location, SPL provides value-added postal and logistics services, achieving the goals of the Quality of Life Program and supporting the transformation process in line with Vision 2030 aspirations.
