87% Increase in Using 5G Technology, over 38% in Data Traffic at Grand Mosque

stc Group has said there was a record increase in the use of 5G network in the Makkah Region, where it reached an 87% user rate.
The group witnessed a significant increase in data traffic by more than 38% during the past 20 days of Ramadan compared to last year, where voice call volume also increased by 13% compared to last year.
This increase is testimony to the group's dedication to enhancing the efficiency of its services and introducing the latest technology, together with the infrastructure needed to accommodate the influx of visitors during the holy month.

Facebook topped the list of data-consuming applications on stc network in and around the Grand Mosque, followed by Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, and WhatsApp.
