Arab League Calls on International Community to Support Arab Efforts to Establish Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone

The Arab League has urged the international community to support Arab initiatives in creating a nuclear-free and weapons-of-mass destruction-free zone in the Middle East and called for backing the international conference on this issue, which takes place every November.
The Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, delivered this message during the opening session of the third Arab Forum on Arms Control, Disarmament, and Non-Proliferation in Doha, Qatar.
The forum was organized by the General Secretariat of the Arab League in collaboration with the Qatari National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons.
Ambassador Zaki emphasized Arab nations' strategic stance against pursuing military nuclear capabilities and their support for countries' inherent right to peaceful nuclear energy usage.
He also highlighted the Arab League's endorsement of international and regional endeavors to enhance security and peace by strengthening member states' national efforts to combat illegal small arms and light weapons.
