Muslim World League Expresses Deep Regret over Obstructed Palestinian UN Membership

The Muslim World League (MWL) has voiced profound disappointment at the failure to grant Palestine full membership in the United Nations. The MWL considers this a severe setback that worsens the suffering of Palestinians and emboldens the Israeli occupation to continue its abuses.

The MWL's statement underscored the significance of this decision as a significant obstacle to achieving a fair and enduring peace in the region. Additionally, it strengthens Israel's oppressive actions towards the Palestinian people.

The league renews its demand that the international community shoulder its responsibility to stop Israeli aggression against civilians in Gaza. Additionally, it calls for backing the Palestinians' self-determination and the creation of a sovereign Palestinian nation within the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital. This alignment is crucial to the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international resolutions.
