Saudi National Youth Handball Team Wins Asian Gold for First Time

The Saudi national youth handball team won the gold medal at the 3rd Asian Youth Games (Bahrain 2025), defeating Kuwait 29-28 in the final at Umm Al Hassam Sports Hall in Manama before a large crowd.

 Saudi Arabia led 15-13 at halftime, kept its edge in the second half and sealed the one-goal win to claim the Asian title for the first time in its history. It is the first gold for Saudi handball at Asian multi-sport games and the second overall medal for the sport after the bronze at the 1990 Beijing Asian Games. The victory raises the Kingdom’s tally at the games to 21 medals: five gold, four silver, and 12 bronze.
