SDAIA Leverages Technology to Enhance Services for Umrah Performers during Ramadan

The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) is leveraging data and artificial intelligence to enhance services for Umrah performers during Ramadan. This initiative reflects SDAIA's collaboration with government entities to provide 24/7 technical support at the Kingdom's air, land, and sea ports, facilitating pilgrims' journeys from arrival to departure.
Aligning with Saudi leadership's commitment to supporting the two holy mosques, SDAIA, in partnership with the Ministry of Interior and the Special Forces for Hajj and Umrah Security, has developed algorithms to improve service efficiency at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, enhancing safety and organization.
SDAIA provides technical support at major airports, including King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, streamlining pilgrims' entry during this busy month. The authority's teams monitor system readiness and promptly address any malfunctions.
In enhancing digital transformation, SDAIA collaborates with the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque to deliver secure digital solutions. These initiatives underscore the Kingdom's dedication to improving digital services.
SDAIA also supports crowd management in partnership with the Special Forces for Hajj and Umrah Security, counting individuals entering and exiting the Grand Mosque gates and monitoring density in the Mataf and courtyards for effective capacity management.
During Ramadan, the Tawakkalna application plays a key role, allowing users to issue Umrah and prayer permits for the Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifa, check booking capacities, and receive availability notifications. It integrates with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah via the Manasik portal and broadcasts live from the two holy mosques.
Additionally, the application offers various digital services, including access to the Holy Quran, Qibla direction, prayer times, I'tikaf permits, and the occupancy status of the Mataf and Sa'i. Users can also view global and local prayer times through a widget that features countdowns and alerts.
