
Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies Holds Symposium Marking International Day of Women in Diplomacy
Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies today held a symposium in celebration of the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, attended by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji, alongside several female diplomatic leaders and ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom.
In his opening remarks, Elkhereiji stressed the importance of empowering women in the diplomatic corps, highlighting the progress achieved in this field under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and under the targets of the Saudi Vision 2030. He noted that women have become active figures on the international stage, serving as ambassadors, leaders, negotiators, and representatives of the Kingdom in various international forums.
The symposium addressed several key topics, including the steps taken to support women in their diplomatic careers, the role of men in driving change, the unique qualities and skills women contribute to diplomacy, and ways to ensure their voices are heard. Discussions also covered the global advancement of women in diplomacy, the impact of integrating the female perspective into foreign policy formulation, and its reflection on domestic policies. The event further explored the promotion of women’s participation in multilateral forums and facing current and future challenges.
