Taurid Meteor Shower Peaks over Saudi Arabia amid Full Moon Glow
The skies over the Kingdom witnessed the peak of the annual Taurid meteor shower last night. Known for its slow-moving, bright balls of light, the spectacle is observed every November under favorable weather conditions.
Jeddah Astronomy Society Director Majid Abu Zahra explained that the peak of this year's shower coincided with a full moon. This led to a high level of sky illumination, making it difficult to spot fainter meteors. However, he noted that the brightest meteors remained visible to the naked eye.
Abu Zahra pointed out that the Taurid shower is an astronomical phenomenon that can be observed from locations far from light pollution and typically remains active for several days during the month.
