Saudi Dates Expand Global Reach, Gain Strong Presence in German Retail Markets

Saudi dates continued their strong presence in major global retail markets under an initiative to enable Saudi date exports and facilitate their entry into international markets, launched by the National Center for Palms and Dates. The initiative aims to expand export volumes and increase returns, thereby supporting the national economy in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The center noted that Saudi dates have gained a notable presence in major retail chains and their branches across various cities in Germany, where consumers have widely accepted them for their high quality, compliance with international standards, and the diversity of premium varieties and processed products used in many main meals. A number of consumers expressed their admiration for Saudi date varieties and were keen to include them in their daily purchases.
The center said this remarkable presence in German retail markets is part of a broader initiative to enable Saudi date exports to reach global markets, aimed at supporting Saudi date companies in expanding their exports and enhancing their readiness to enter global markets. The initiative has included listing 10 Saudi date companies in more than 1,500 branches across 15 major retail chains in over 14 countries, reflecting the positive impact of support provided to the palm and date sector and its role in boosting the global presence of Saudi dates.
The palm and date sector in the Kingdom has witnessed rapid growth in recent years, driven by increased production and rising export volume and value. Date production exceeded 1.9 million tons, while export value reached nearly SAR1.7 billion, with Saudi dates exported to more than 125 countries, reinforcing the Kingdom’s global position in date exports.
