Industry Ministry Launches Non-Profit Food Manufacturers Association to Boost Localization and Competitiveness
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has announced the establishment of a non-profit food manufacturers association to support localization in the Kingdom's food industry and enhance the quality and competitiveness of national products. The initiative is part of the ministry’s broader strategy to empower non-profit organizations in the industrial and mining sectors.
The association will work to identify and address the challenges facing food manufacturers, strengthen communication between industry stakeholders and decision-makers, and promote good governance and transparency across the sector. It will also conduct technical studies to support the development of legislative frameworks for the food industry and bolster the presence of Saudi food products both locally and globally.
Saudi Arabia’s food market is among the largest in the Middle East, currently valued at more than SAR200 billion and growing at an annual rate of 3%, with projections indicating it will reach SAR214 billion by 2030.
