The fourth edition of LEAP 2025, a premier tech event in the Middle East, kicked off yesterday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with an impressive turnout of around 18 countries, 1,800 exhibitors, 630 tech startups, and over 1,000 speakers from across the globe.

Running from February 9 to 12, 2025, under the theme “Into New Worlds,” the event highlights the region’s growing influence in the global tech landscape. Oman’s participation stands out, with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology organizing the Oman Pavilion for the third consecutive year. The pavilion features 46 public and private tech companies, including nine government entities and 37 Omani startups, showcasing the nation’s commitment to fostering innovation and expanding its digital economy.

One of the key highlights of Oman’s participation is the signing of a $10 million agreement between GSME (Global Semiconductor & Microelectronics Enterprises), an Omani-founded company, and Saudi Arabia’s e-Photonics. This partnership focuses on semiconductors, electronics, and advanced 3D computer vision solutions, emphasizing knowledge exchange, joint research, and quality assurance. Dr. Ali Al Shidhani, Undersecretary for Communications and Information Technology, emphasized Oman’s strategic positioning as a hub for digital investment, particularly in semiconductors, data centers, space technology, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. He noted that Oman’s abundant raw materials and competitive advantages make it an attractive destination for global tech investors.

The Oman Pavilion at LEAP 2025 serves as a platform to showcase the country’s integrated ecosystem, bringing together public and private sector players to support Omani startups in expanding into regional and global markets. With dedicated platforms for entities like Omantel, Ithca Group, and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, the pavilion highlights Oman’s innovative solutions and investment opportunities. The event underscores Oman’s vision to connect with the world, attract digital investments, and position itself as a leader in the digital economy. LEAP 2025 provides an ideal stage for Oman to demonstrate its technological advancements and foster collaborations with global tech giants, further solidifying its role in the global tech revolution.
