The Secretary General of the Muslim World League Begins His Visit to the French Republic with a Tour of the “Besieged Gaza” Exhibition

- The visit included extensive discussions on a number of contemporary issues and clarifying the Islamic legal stance on them.

- Dialogues addressed a collection of widely circulated, explored, and often misunderstood intellectual and religious terms, in addition to the ethics of artificial intelligence.

His Excellency the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, President of the Association of Muslim Scholars, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, held extensive discussions in the French capital, Paris, on a number of contemporary issues related to the League’s mission and clarified the Islamic legal position on these matters, in addition to discussing several religious and intellectual terms.

This came in response to an invitation from one of the world’s most influential and internationally recognized think tanks, as the French Institute of International Relations hosted a symposium featuring His Excellency Dr. Al-Issa, attended by the Institute’s Secretary General along with an elite group of thought leaders, researchers, and experts from research and study centers. The gathering addressed several contemporary issues and a selection of the most widely circulated, explored, and frequently misunderstood religious terms.

Additionally, the French daily L’Opinion hosted a roundtable at its headquarters in the French capital, attended by a number of representatives from research centers, politicians, and opinion-makers.

The roundtable discussion focused on the latest contemporary issues related to the League’s mission and the clarification of the Islamic legal position on them, along with dialogues on a selection of the most common and misunderstood intellectual and religious terms, as well as the ethics of artificial intelligence.

Dr. Al-Issa concluded his visit with a tour organized by the Arab World Institute in Paris of the first-of-its-kind exhibition for the besieged Gaza, documenting its long cultural history through photographs and film footage of historical landmarks — including mosques, churches, and archaeological sites registered with UNESCO — that have been destroyed.

The Institute also hosted an extensive discussion with the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, in the presence of the Institute’s President, Mr. Jack Lang. The dialogue addressed a number of topics related to the Institute’s role in promoting understanding and cooperation between cultures, and in confronting the concepts, slogans, and practices of civilizational conflict — a mission that aligns with one of the Muslim World League’s initiatives aimed at promoting Islam’s call for peace.

His Eminence explained that the League previously launched, at the United Nations headquarters in New York and in the presence of international organization leaders, an initiative entitled “Building Bridges of Understanding and Cooperation between East and West,” affirming that Muslims — throughout their long, rich civilizational history — have engaged and connected with all people, both East and West.
