Imam of Prophet's Mosque Visits Indonesia's Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University

Imam and Khatib of the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Huthaifi yesterday visited the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, as part of the visits of the imams of the Two Holy Mosques’ program, implemented by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.

 Sheikh Al-Huthaifi held a meeting with the UIN president, Dr. Asep Saepudin Jahar, in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amoudi and the religious attaché, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Hazmi. During the meeting, the university president reviewed the achievements, activities, and programs of the university in recent years.

 The Imam of the Prophet's Mosque delivered a speech in the main hall of the university -- via video conference -- in the presence of more than 30,000 male and female students and faculty members. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its care of the Two Holy Mosques and its service to their visitors in various ways.
