Municipalities Ministry Strengthens Inspections to Enhance Food Safety
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing emphasized the importance of full compliance by food establishments with all approved health regulations and requirements, while reaffirming its ongoing efforts to strengthen the municipal inspection ecosystem to ensure food safety, protect public health, and enhance regulatory compliance throughout the Kingdom.
The ministry stated that field inspections of food establishments are conducted on a continuous basis through municipalities across the Kingdom to verify compliance with health requirements, ensure the safe handling, storage, and preparation of food, detect violations, and take the necessary regulatory measures against non-compliant establishments. These efforts contribute to strengthening food safety and reducing practices that could pose risks to consumer health.
It added that the municipal inspection ecosystem is built on enhancing health regulations, improving the efficiency of field inspections, and reinforcing compliance with requirements among workers in food-related activities. This is achieved by streamlining the issuance of health certificates and updating regulatory guidelines, thereby improving the quality of services provided to consumers.
The ministry urged owners of food establishments to comply with health requirements, ensure that employees meet all regulatory obligations, and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. It stressed that compliance plays a vital role in providing a safe food environment and safeguarding the health of the community.
