Assistant Minister of Finance for Macro-Fiscal Policies and International Relations Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman bin Zaraah headed the Saudi delegation participating in the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, held from June 30 to July 4, in Seville, Spain.

In his address, the assistant finance minister stressed the Kingdom's steadfast commitment to supporting international efforts aimed at achieving sustainable development worldwide, reflecting its leading role in this field. He highlighted the Kingdom's direct and indirect contributions through national, regional, and international financial institutions to support vital sectors, including infrastructure, health, energy, education, and humanitarian aid, across the globe.

He pointed out that the sovereign debt crisis is among the major challenges hindering development efforts, emphasizing the Kingdom's leadership in launching the "Common Framework for Debt Treatment" during its presidency of the G20 in 2020. This framework provided a platform for all creditors and debtors to address debt issues in a transparent, systematic, and fair manner.

The assistant minister also reiterated that the Kingdom attaches great importance to adopting financial and structural reforms aimed at achieving inclusive and sustainable growth by enhancing productivity, rebuilding trust, ensuring sustainability, protecting the most vulnerable groups, and empowering women and youth.

The 4th International Conference on Financing for Development aims to enhance global financing and reform the international financial system to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development.
