Final Rounds of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Quran and Sunnah Competition Continue in Africa
The final rounds of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Competition for Memorizing the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah in Africa continued today. The competition was organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the religious attaché at the Saudi embassy in Pretoria, South Africa.
The second day of the finals witnessed the judging panel listening to the remaining contestants from 29 countries competing in various categories of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah.
This year’s edition features 44 contestants from 29 African countries, including 29 participants in the Quran memorization category and 15 in the Sunnah category. They qualified after passing the preliminary rounds, in which 80,796 contestants from 1,840 Quran memorization associations and schools across the participating countries took part.
The competitions are held in three categories for the Holy Quran: memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of 10 parts, and memorization of five parts, in addition to one category for the Sunnah.
Organizing this competition reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him; its keenness to promote values of competition in doing good among youth; and its pioneering role in serving Islam and Muslims worldwide, encouraging Muslim youth to engage with the Holy Quran in memorization, understanding, performance, and reflection.
