The Secretary General of the Muslim World League: Islamic Cooperation in Qur’anic Affairs is a Primary Objective of Muslim Unity
The projects included: the First Coordinating Forum for Global Digital Qur’anic Platforms (with its themes), the launch of the Digital Gateway for the Global Digital Platform, and the establishment of the first association of digital Qur’anic platforms.
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League and President of the Association of Muslim Scholars, inaugurated a pioneering package of Qur’anic projects at the MWL’s headquarters in Makkah. These included the launch of the First Coordinating Forum for Global Digital Qur’anic Platforms—with its themes and discussions—, the unveiling of the Digital Gateway for the Global Digital Platform, and the establishment of the first-ever association for digital Qur’anic platforms.
The event was marked by wide participation from distinguished scholars, researchers, and practitioners in Qur’an recitation and education, along with representatives from fifty global digital Qur’anic platforms. These platforms represent advanced efforts in remote Qur’an instruction using modern communication technologies.
Sheikh Al-Issa warmly welcomed the guests of this significant Qur’anic event, which aligns with the League’s mission to strengthen the unity of the Islamic Ummah. He emphasized that among the most noble avenues to enhance this unity is the service of the Holy Book of Allah Almighty. He stated, "Islamic cooperation in Qur’anic affairs is among the leading objectives of Islamic unity pursued by the Muslim World League in accordance with its founding vision and mission.”
He addressed the attendees, saying, “The MWL is from you and for you. It is a good deed from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, gifted to the Islamic world.”
He then prayed that Allah reward Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister of the Kingdom—may Allah preserve them both—for all they have done and continue to do in the service of Islam and Muslims.
On behalf of the participating Qur’anic platforms, Dr. Ahmad Jamil from the Republic of Indonesia delivered a speech in which he praised the MWL’s longstanding and diverse efforts in serving the Qur’an and its people. He highlighted the MWL’s scholarly and technological vision aimed at connecting the world with the Book of Allah and facilitating its proper teaching and mastery according to authentic principles and standards.
Dr. Jamil, speaking for the participating platforms, extended sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their blessed support of the Holy Qur’an and their ongoing backing of Qur’anic institutions and initiatives both within Saudi Arabia and internationally.
Following the opening session, four academic sessions were held. These included scholarly discussions and papers on various key topics, most notably, guidelines for Qur’anic recitation and certification through digital platforms, development of educational tools and programs to support remote Qur’anic recitation, coordination of international efforts to regulate and standardize digital Qur’anic education, and showcasing leading technological initiatives in Qur’an teaching and recitation.
The forum concluded with several key recommendations, most prominently the establishment of the “Global Association of Digital Qur’anic Platforms,” to serve as an international body under the umbrella of the Muslim World League, dedicated to overseeing digital Qur’anic recitation efforts.
At the end of the forum, participants expressed their heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its unwavering care, support, and dedication to the Holy Qur’an, under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman—may Allah preserve them.
They also extended sincere thanks and appreciation to the Muslim World League for organizing this landmark forum, which aligns with its blessed efforts in serving the Holy Qur’an and promoting global coordination in its teaching and recitation.
