NWC Launches 15 Water and Sanitation Projects in Al-Baha Region at SAR591 Million

The National Water Company (NWC) announced that it has begun implementing 15 water and sanitation projects in Al-Baha Region in the Southern Cluster, including pipelines and networks extending over 534 kilometers, at a cost of more than SAR591 million.

 These projects are part of NWC's ongoing efforts to implement its strategic plans for infrastructure development in the water and environment sector, based on initiatives aimed at expanding the range of services offered to customers.

 The water projects under implementation include 10 in Al-Baha Region. These will serve several districts in the city of Al-Baha, as well as various governorates including Baljurashi, Qilwa, Al-Makhwah, Al-Mandaq, Al-Qura, and Al-Hajra, along with the centers of Nawan, Bani Kabir, and Al Jawah. The projects encompass transmission lines and networks extending over 249 kilometers, eight operational reservoirs with a total capacity of 24,500 cubic meters, and pumping stations with a combined capacity exceeding 16,000 cubic meters per day.

 The company stated that it has also begun implementing five wastewater projects in Al-Baha Region, covering several governorates, namely Baljurashi, Al-Aqiq, and Qilwa. These projects include transmission lines and networks spanning more than 285 kilometers, as well as lifting stations with a total capacity of more than 18,000 cubic meters per day.

 NWC emphasized that these projects are part of its efforts to strengthen the water distribution system, eliminate environmental harm, achieve water security and ecological balance, expand service coverage, and provide sustainable supplies of drinking water. The company added that it continues to implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency in the water and environmental sectors, in line with the highest standards of quality and performance, to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
