Jazan Region Emerges as a Key Investment Center in the Kingdom
Jazan Region is experiencing significant development, creating a sustainable investment environment. Improvements in investor services and expansion of investment opportunities are enhancing its appeal, supported by its strategic location on the Red Sea.
The region features key logistical hubs, including the Industrial City Logistics Center and the Special Economic Zone Logistics Area, which connect to the national transport network and boost trade via two seaports. Established by MODON in 2009, the Industrial City in Abu Arish spans three million square meters and hosts 66 facilities focusing on building materials, food processing, and chemicals.
Furthermore, the new Jazan Airport is crucial for regional development, covering over 50 million square meters with a capacity of more than 5.4 million passengers annually. The Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries supports sectors such as petrochemicals and logistics, featuring an Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle complex producing 3.8 GW of electricity and attracting foreign investment.
Jazan’s diverse geography—spanning islands, mountains, and a 330-km coastline—bolsters tourism and fisheries. The region accounts for over 35% of the Red Sea catch and 20% of the Kingdom's fish production, as well as more than 30 types of fruit and annual vegetable production exceeding 600,000 tons.
Livestock comprises over 3.9 million sheep and goats, 95,000 cattle, and 57,000 camels, while poultry operations produce about 1.95 million broilers annually. Saudi Khawlani Coffee is significant locally, with over 400,000 coffee trees yielding more than 1,000 tons annually; the first shipment was recently exported to Eastern Europe.
With traditional markets dating back over 250 years, Jazan is a cultural landmark. Attractions include the archaeological sites of the Farasan Islands, nearby beaches, and mountainous regions known for fog-covered peaks and thermal springs.
