The Saudi pavilion's participation in China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China 2024) has officially begun. This exhibition, recognized as one of the largest aviation events worldwide, is set to take place from November 12 to 17 in Zhuhai, China.
His Excellency, His Excellency Eng. Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), participated in the launch of the Saudi pavilion, accompanied by Lieutenant-General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Chief of General Staff; His Excellency Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi, the Saudi Ambassador to China; along with several officials, international investors, and decision-makers in the aviation and space sectors.
The Governor of GAMI, His Excellency Engineer Ahmad Al-Ohali, affirmed that "this strategic participation, occurring for the first time in China, aims to enhance the Kingdom's global presence in the military industries sector and to solidify its position as one of the fastest-growing economies among the G20 nations. Furthermore, it seeks to establish fruitful international partnerships to empower and develop the military industries sector, while also promoting the Kingdom's message of welcoming investors from around the world. Additionally, it aims to highlight the key objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 within the military sector."
The Saudi pavilion, organized by GAMI, showcases military products and equipment, particularly in the aviation sector. It also highlights the latest developments and achievements of government entities and national companies specializing in military industries, as well as the efforts made to enhance national military manufacturing capabilities. The goal is to localize over 50% of government spending on military equipment and services by 2030.
The Saudi pavilion includes several government entities alongside GAMI. This participation features the Ministry of Investment and the General Authority for Defense Development, as well as a number of national companies in the military industries sector, such as the National Company for Mechanical Systems, WAKEB Company for Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems, Milestone Aviation Services, and Homat Al-Watan Company.
GAMI collaborates integratively with its partners from beneficiary and supportive government entities to enable national companies and major international firms operating in the military industries sector. This initiative aims to enhance the available capabilities within the defense and military industries, foster an investment-friendly environment, and capitalize on all promising investment opportunities in the sector. Additionally, it seeks to localize the latest technologies and equipment in the aviation field, thereby serving as a significant contributor to the prosperity of the Saudi economy and strengthening its defense and security independence.
