On Behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Makkah Deputy Governor Hands Over New Kaaba Kiswa
On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz today handed over the new Holy Kaaba cover (Kiswa) to the Kaaba's caretakers, marking the annual precursor to its official replacement scheduled for the start of the upcoming Islamic new year, Muharram 1448 AH.
Tailored with meticulous craftsmanship at the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Holy Kaaba Kiswa, the piece is manufactured out of premium black-dyed natural silk. Standing 14 meters high, its upper third features an embroidered belt measuring 95 centimeters wide and 47 meters long, meticulously divided into 16 distinct panels bordered by elegant Islamic motifs and calligraphic patterns.
