Madinah Airport Welcomes Moroccan Pilgrims via Makkah Route Initiative

A flight carrying beneficiaries of the Makkah Route Initiative from Morocco’s Mohammed V International Airport arrived at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
Now in its eighth year, the Ministry of Interior initiative streamlines the Hajj journey by completing all entry procedures, including biometric data, electronic visas, and passport control, at the departure airport.
Upon arrival, beneficiaries are transported directly to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah via designated lanes, while partner agencies manage the delivery of their luggage. This integrated system ensures a high-quality, seamless experience by verifying health requirements and sorting baggage in the pilgrims' home countries.
Since its launch in 2017, the initiative has served 1,254,994 pilgrims.
