Health Ministry Tracks Pilgrims' Health with Advanced Tech
As pilgrims continue their sacred journey, each step is now meticulously followed by health sector teams equipped with the latest technologies and operating with profound care and precision, reflecting the Ministry of Health's commitment to pilgrim well-being.
Among the standout technologies is an advanced thermal camera, which utilizes a specialized lens to detect hidden indicators in the feet of diabetic pilgrims. This proactive, preventative model aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program, both integral to the Saudi Vision 2030. These programs aim to facilitate the performance of Hajj rituals and elevate the quality of healthcare services.
Preparation for this innovative initiative spanned more than eight months and involved a community partnership between the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Medical Academy for Volunteers. Initially launched as a successful pilot in Riyadh and Madinah, the initiative is now fully implemented during the Hajj season. The thermal camera detects heat signals in the foot, while a connected mobile application enables rapid identification of potential complications. This swift assessment capability allows medical teams to complete evaluations and deliver immediate care and preventative services.
The widespread deployment of medical teams across the holy sites reflects the Ministry of Health's unwavering commitment to caring for every aspect of the pilgrims' journey. Health practitioners move seamlessly among the crowds, accompanying medical missions and volunteer teams as part of an integrated preventative plan designed to reduce complications and enhance the quality of care. These efforts aim to ensure a safe and smooth Hajj experience for all.
