Ancient Kingdoms Festival Begins in AlUla
The Ancient Kingdoms Festival 2025 officially started yesterday following an opening ceremony held at the Al Hijr archaeological site, one of the most important archaeological locations listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The ceremony featured a presentation rich in history, culture, and local stories.
At the start of the ceremony, visitors were welcomed by AlUla’s narrators, the local story ambassadors, who shared tales of the city's history and its pivotal role on the Incense Route.
Royal Commission for AlUla Vice President of Culture Dr. Abdulrahman Alsuhaibani confirmed that AlUla is now considered one of the most prominent archaeological regions globally, and its historical significance is clearer than ever. He noted that the festival highlights the rich cultural legacy of the northwestern Arabian Peninsula.
The Ancient Kingdoms Festival runs until December 6 and this year is anchored by the theme "Journeys Through Time," inviting visitors to discover AlUla's deep history, successive civilizations, and authentic traditions.
