WBC Boxing Grand Prix Concludes in Riyadh with Four World Champions Crowned

The WBC Boxing Grand Prix, part of the Riyadh Season at Boulevard City, concluded after eight months of intense competition, culminating in a global evening featuring four final bouts that crowned the champions of all four weight categories by unanimous decision, following matches marked by strength, competitiveness, and excitement.
 The winners received symbolic belts from the World Boxing Council (WBC), in addition to a cash prize of $100,000 for each champion, while each finalist earned $50,000.
 In the middleweight bout, Australian boxer Dylan Biggs was crowned champion after defeating his opponent by unanimous decision in a match defined by power and tactical discipline, securing his place among the winners of the inaugural edition of the tournament.
 The evening also saw Argentine boxer Kevin Ramirez claim the heavyweight title after defeating Bosnian Ahmed Krnjić by unanimous decision, in a bout where Ramirez dominated throughout the rounds amid strong crowd engagement.
 In the featherweight bout, Mexican boxer Brandon Mejía Mosqueda claimed the title after defeating Italian Muhamet Qamili by unanimous decision, in a match that combined speed and skill, demonstrating Mosqueda’s worthiness of the championship and his emergence as one of the top rising talents in the category.
 In the super-lightweight bout, Colombian boxer Carlos Utria claimed the title after defeating Uzbek Mujibillo Tursunov by unanimous decision in a match marked by competitiveness and back-and-forth exchanges until the final rounds.
 The final bouts followed a professional format approved by WBC, organized as part of a successful partnership with Riyadh Season, aiming to provide a global platform for rising talents to showcase their skills and elevate the level of international competition.
 The first phase of the tournament was held in April, featuring 128 boxers from over 40 countries, in competitions aimed at discovering promising talent in the world of boxing.
 In December 2024, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and President of the Saudi Boxing Federation Turki Alalshikh announced the launch of the tournament in partnership with WBC, emphasizing that the event serves as a global platform to support young talent in competing at the highest level under the umbrella of Riyadh Season.
