Miqat Dhul Hulaifah in Madinah Welcomes First Pilgrim Arrivals after Redevelopment

Miqat Dhul Hulaifah in Madinah serves as a main station during the Hajj season, witnessing the arrival of pilgrims of various nationalities. The station is supported by integrated services and field efforts by relevant entities to care for pilgrims and oversee their bus transportation to the Grand Mosque in Makkah as part of their journey to perform Hajj.

Miqat Dhul Hulaifah has undergone development under the supervision of Al Madinah Region Development Authority to upgrade the mosque, its surroundings, and facilities, increase its capacity, and enhance the integrated service system for pilgrims passing through the miqat. This includes transport, health, security, awareness, and guidance services, preparing the mosque to receive worshippers, and transforming the miqat into an integrated urban center that supports millions of pilgrims annually, in line with the objectives of the Pilgrim Experience Program and Saudi Vision 2030.

Today, the Miqat Mosque witnessed large numbers of pilgrims from several nationalities wearing Ihram garments, preparing to head to the Grand Mosque in Makkah to perform Umrah at the start of their faith journey before performing Hajj. They were supported by various newly prepared services at Miqat Dhul Hulaifah, including guidance, awareness, and religious instruction corners to enable pilgrims and Umrah performers to perform rituals in accordance with the Prophetic traditions. Drinking water points and fountains were distributed in the mosque’s outer courtyards, while volunteers provided cold bottled water to pilgrims upon arrival. Seating areas shaded by palm trees were also prepared in courtyards paved with marble that does not retain heat, helping create a cooler environment during the day.

The outer courtyard of the Miqat Mosque has also been prepared in an urban manner that enhances the smooth arrival of dozens of buses simultaneously and in an organized way, facilitating the movement of pilgrims to the mosque’s facilities through gates designated for men and women. Free electric carts are available for the elderly and persons with disabilities, in addition to the completion of dozens of outlets selling food, Ihram supplies, and clothing in the outer courtyard, providing all the requirements of the faith journey.
