Human-Centered Approach to Madinah Enhances Quality of Life, Preserves Heritage

The human-centered approach to Madinah represents an integrated development vision that prioritizes people in urban planning, enhancing quality of life, promoting human values, and transforming the city into a sustainable environment that harmoniously blends spirituality with the needs of residents and visitors, while preserving its ancient Islamic identity.

In an era of rapid urban transformation, the concept of human-centered cities has emerged as a crucial framework for achieving a balance between urban progress and human well-being. Recognizing this, the Saudi leadership has placed significant emphasis on Madinah by driving a qualitative shift toward a more human-centered approach in the development of neighborhoods and historical sites, aligning with the goals of Vision 2030.

One example is the Quba Road connecting the Prophet's Mosque and the Quba Mosque, which underwent considerable development over a distance of 2.8 kilometers to enhance commercial and tourist activity. This project prioritized pedestrian accessibility, improved shop facades, and incorporated extensive greenery, transforming the area into an attractive destination for visitors.
