Over 1,000 Saudi Red Crescent Volunteers Provide Services to Visitors of Prophet’s Mosque
Volunteer teams of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority recorded an active presence in the courtyards of the Prophet's Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. By the end of Ramadan 13, 1,007 volunteers had participated in volunteer ambulance work, providing their services to Umrah performers and visitors in a spiritual atmosphere.
The total number of volunteer hours reached 7,165, distributed across 597 ambulance teams, within a field system aimed at enhancing readiness and raising the level of rapid response to emergency cases in the courtyards and corridors surrounding the mosque.
Volunteer teams handled 1,090 emergency reports, of which 298 cases were transferred to health facilities for further medical care, while 792 cases were treated on site without transfer, according to the assessment of participating medical teams.
These efforts embody the vital role of volunteer work in supporting the field health system and enhancing quality of services provided, in line with efforts aimed at advancing humanitarian services in Madinah during peak seasons.
