Plant-Based Leather from Surplus Dates
Designer Lamis Al-Fadhel, founder of Qitmeer, developed an eco-friendly plant-based leather made from surplus and wasted dates — registered as a Saudi intellectual property.
The project aims to repurpose over 260,000 tons of wasted dates annually into leather products for fashion and accessories, helping reduce the environmental impact of traditional animal leather tanning. It also seeks to create new plant-based leathers infused with Arabian scents that reflect local identity.

She integrated Ajwa date stones into some of her designs as part of a recycling concept and has participated in several events, including the Saudi Cup.
Now a certified fashion trainer, Al-Mansour focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into design and marketing while working to include more Saudi designers and tailors in her projects.
“Noq”: From Pharmacy to Design

Her brand Noq embodies Saudi authenticity with a modern spirit, and she recently opened her store in AlUla. She emphasizes the importance of supporting national projects that empower young Saudis and encourage them to pursue entrepreneurship.
