Expo 2030 Riyadh Hosts Reception in Osaka to Bolster Global Cooperation for Exceptional Edition

Expo 2030 Riyadh, in collaboration with the Saudi Embassy in Japan, hosted a reception in Osaka attended by more than 200 distinguished guests, including ambassadors, general commissioners for Expo 2025 Osaka, and prominent figures from around the world.

The event featured discussions centered around the theme of Expo 2030 Riyadh: “Foresight for Tomorrow,” which is supported by three sub-themes: “Transformational Technology,” “Sustainable Solutions,” and “Prosperous People.”

The gathering provided a key platform for exchanging ideas on shared global challenges, enhancing engagement and participation, and highlighting Saudi Arabia’s readiness to host an exceptional edition of the World Expo.

In his opening remarks, Saudi Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner General of the Kingdom’s Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka Ghazi Binzagr emphasized the importance of diplomatic collaboration in supporting and advancing such global events.

Binzagr noted that his role as commissioner general has enabled him to witness firsthand the essential contribution of World Expos in strengthening international ties and fostering cooperation among nations. He added that the reception “provided an excellent opportunity for dialogue and the sharing of ideas with participants from around the world."

This event follows the official final registration approval for Expo 2030 Riyadh, granted last month by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), marking a major milestone as the initiative enters its execution phase. The phase includes the formal invitation to international participants via diplomatic channels.

The reception is part of broader efforts to promote engagement with Expo 2030 Riyadh and is one of a series of global outreach events planned to involve stakeholders early in the lead-up to the event.

Expo 2030 Riyadh is scheduled to take place from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031, across a 6-million-square-meter site. It is expected to be one of the largest and most ambitious World Expos in history, aiming to welcome over 40 million visitors and serve as a platform for global dialogue, innovation, and cultural exchange.
