the participation of news agencies from Islamic countries,
international media unions, representatives of international media,
several international organizations, diplomatic, cultural, and religious
figures, the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic
Cooperation (UNA) and the Assistant Secretariat for Institutional
Communication of the Muslim World League will organize a media forum
entitled "Media and the Palestinian Right: Practical Steps to Build on
Palestine Recognition Initiatives" next Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Communication of the Muslim World League will organize a media forum
entitled "Media and the Palestinian Right: Practical Steps to Build on
Palestine Recognition Initiatives" next Sunday, June 9, 2024.
The
remotely held forum aims to establish a practical foundation for
Islamic and international media cooperation. Its objectives include
supporting initiatives to recognize the State of Palestine, enabling the
Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights, enhancing the
media's role in resolving international crises, and promoting a culture
of peace and coexistence among different peoples and civilizations.

Acting Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies, Mr. Mohammed
bin Abd Rabbo Al-Yami, explained that the forum will propose practical
steps to enhance international media cooperation on the Palestinian
issue. These steps include intensifying media coverage of declarations
issued by countries worldwide regarding their recognition of Palestine,
addressing them positively, and activating the media's role in detecting
and preventing war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Mr. Yasser Al-Ghamdi, explained that the forum seeks to launch practical
initiatives to employ the media more effectively in upholding the
rights of the Palestinian people as stipulated in international law and
its references. These initiatives include advocating for the recognition
of the Palestinian independent state and confronting adverse media
discourses that oppose the Palestinians' legitimate human rights. He
noted the importance of taking advantage of the current supportive
global situation where facts regarding the Palestinian cause have begun
to be revealed.
