The National Events Center Signs MoU with the Ministry of Human Resources and the General Secretariat of the Sectoral Skills Councils

The National Events Center (NEC) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Riyadh with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the General Secretariat of the Sectoral Skills Councils, aiming to foster effective collaboration among the parties in training and skills development. The MoU seeks to strengthen coordination, integrate efforts within their respective areas of expertise, and establish a general framework for joint activities and shared objectives.

Under the terms of the agreement, the parties will explore opportunities to expand cooperation across all possible areas, leveraging their respective relationships, partnerships, and information resources. The MoU also includes plans to launch joint media campaigns encouraging graduates to apply for event management programs, as well as to implement collaborative initiatives to build national capabilities through specialized programs, seminars, and workshops. The agreement further provides for the exchange of studies and research related to the events sector, the review and classification of academic disciplines and training programs, and aligning these with national strategies.

The MoU also covers cooperation in organizing international exhibitions and events dedicated to the events industry, jointly contributing to the sector’s development at the national level through various initiatives, and exploring future opportunities for growth. Additionally, the parties will collaborate on evaluating and accrediting training and qualification programs relevant to the sector, and on sharing sectoral skills frameworks and approved skills intelligence reports.

A joint working team will oversee the implementation of the MoU’s provisions, report on progress, and hold regular meetings to monitor outcomes and prepare related reports. The team will also work on adopting the Event Pioneers Program as a national initiative to qualify and enable Saudi talent in the sector, while sharing available research, studies, and data related to skills to expand the scope and impact of the MoU.

The signing of this MoU reflects the shared commitment of The National Events Center, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, and the General Secretariat of the Sectoral Skills Councils to enhance quality of life in Saudi Arabia and enable society to benefit from the growing range of events hosted across the Kingdom, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
