Palms and Dates Center Highlights Variety of Date Products for Students as New Academic Year Begins
The National Center for Palms and Dates (NCPD) emphasized the importance of including dates in students’ daily meals as the new academic year begins across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It noted that dates form part of Saudi culture and identity.
According to the NCPD, dates and their processed products are used in many dishes and beverages consumed by students during the school day. It highlighted their nutritional value and use as a natural sweetener.
The return to school coincides with the center's “Our Dates Seasons” campaigns, which celebrate Saudi dates and promote domestic consumption. The campaigns also raise awareness of the diverse uses of dates and their processed products in food and beverages.
The NCPD said its ongoing campaigns have increased awareness of the nutritional value and uses of dates and their products. They have also helped increase consumption and demand while introducing a variety of innovative date-based foods and beverages.
