1- Can you elaborate on the present state of the open-source software market in the MENA region, as well as key trends shaping it?

Currently, the MENA region’s open-source software market is undergoing a substantial transformation driven by the increasing adoption of advanced cloud technologies as well as the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). Red Hat’s recent survey on IT managers revealed that organisations in the region are prioritising cloud investments, with an aim to centralise cloud management for streamlined operations and enhanced flexibility. This trend is significantly influencing key regional markets and is expected to have a ripple effect on other markets in the MENA region as businesses embrace hybrid and multi-cloud strategies to reduce dependency on a single provider.

Organisations are also focusing on security, compliance and data sovereignty to seamlessly navigate the regional regulatory landscape while adopting advanced technologies. In such a scenario, open-source solutions can empower businesses to address crucial challenges, by promoting transparency and flexibility in cloud management and AI adoption.
