Tourism Ministry Urges Hospitality Facilities in Makkah to Ban Accommodation without Hajj Permit Starting Dhul-Qidah 1, 1446 AH

The Ministry of Tourism has stressed to all hospitality establishments in Makkah the necessity of refraining from accommodating guests who do not possess a Hajj permit or an official entry permit for work or residency in the city during the Hajj season. This directive will take effect starting from Dhul-Qidah 1, 1446 AH, corresponding to April 29, 2025, and will remain in place until the end of the Hajj season.
This announcement aligns with the recent statement from the Ministry of Interior regarding arrangements and procedures aimed at safeguarding the well-being of pilgrims and ensuring they can perform Hajj safely, securely, and peacefully. The Ministry of Interior stressed that, as of Tuesday, April 29, 2025 (Dhul-Qidah 1, 1446 AH), individuals holding any type of visa other than a Hajj visa will not be permitted to enter or remain in Makkah.
The Ministry of Tourism noted that hospitality facilities are strictly prohibited from housing individuals covered by the Ministry of Interior’s announcement during the specified period. This measure is part of the comprehensive efforts to ensure the safety and security of the Hajj season in coordination with other government entities.
The ministry also reaffirmed the obligation of all hospitality establishments in Makkah to adhere to the regulations and procedures governing the 1446H Hajj season. It called for full cooperation with relevant authorities to safeguard pilgrims and reiterated that any violations of these directives will result in legal penalties.
