MWL Welcomes UN General Assembly Resolution on Palestinian Right to Self-Determination

The Muslim World League (MWL) welcomed the adoption of a resolution by the United Nations General Assembly affirming the right of Palestinians to self-determination and rejecting the illegal Israeli occupation of their territories.

 In a statement, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa commended the resolution, which renews international awareness of the Palestinian people’s inherent right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state.

 He praised the responsible stance of the countries that voted in favor of the resolution and simultaneously called on the United Nations and the leaders of the Security Council’s permanent member states to fulfill their responsibilities and support the Palestinian people's "historic,” “humanitarian,” and “legal” rights by exerting pressure to implement international resolutions on the ground.
