Historic Jeddah’s Culture Square Wins 2025 Culture Project of the Year at MEED Awards
The Culture Square in Historic Jeddah, a project led by the Ministry of Culture, has won the 2025 Culture Project of the Year at the 15th annual MEED Projects Awards, recognizing outstanding construction, infrastructure, and cultural projects across the Middle East and North Africa.
The award ceremony, attended by over 400 leaders and experts and more than 100 companies, underscored the Culture Square’s status as one of the Kingdom’s most prominent new cultural landmarks. This recognition affirms the Ministry of Culture’s efforts to revitalize Jeddah’s historic district, enhance the arts and cultural presence, and transform the area into a global tourist destination, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop the cultural sector.
Located on the banks of Al-Arbaeen Lake, Culture Square comprises integrated cultural facilities that blend heritage and modernity. Key components include a performing arts center with an 888-seat main theater, five cinemas, nine dialogue rooms, a restaurant, and three cafes. The square also houses the Middle East’s first digital art museum of its kind, teamLab Borderless, featuring over 80 interactive digital artworks that combine art, technology, and nature.
