On Behalf of HRH the Crown Prince, Foreign Minister Participates in the Second-Day Meeting of the BRICS Summit

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated in the second-day meeting of the BRICS 2026 Summit, held in New Delhi, the capital of the Republic of India, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participating as an invited country.
 During the meeting, the foreign minister delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince. He also expressed the Kingdom’s appreciation to the Republic of India for its efforts during its presidency of BRICS in 2026 and thanked India for the invitation to participate in this year’s Summit.
 In his remarks, the foreign minister stated that, in light of the current developments in the region, the priority should be to de-escalate tensions and create space for political and diplomatic efforts. Prince Faisal affirmed that security in the Arabian Gulf cannot be achieved without respect for the sovereignty and independence of its states, non-interference in their internal affairs, adherence to the principles of good neighborliness, and the peaceful settlement of disputes.
 The foreign minister stressed that the security of the Kingdom, the integrity of its territory, and the protection of its national assets are non-negotiable, and that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states will not accept any targeting of their territories, facilities, or vital interests, regardless of the pretexts or justifications invoked.
 He underscored the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and the safety of commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and other maritime corridors, stating that any disruption to these routes would have repercussions for global markets, supply chains, and economic growth.
 He concluded his remarks by highlighting the purposes for which international institutions were established and the urgent need to strengthen their capacity to fulfill their responsibilities. He added that the credibility of the international system depends on how consistently its rules and laws are applied, noting that the Kingdom looks forward to continuing its engagement with BRICS and its partners across the international community.
 The meeting was attended by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the Republic of India Haytham AlMalki.
