Saudi Architecture and Design Commission Announces Two Initiatives in Collaboration with International Entities

The Architecture and Design Commission has announced the launch of a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) initiative in strategic partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and in collaboration with the French Architects for Export (AFEX).
This program offers Saudi talents exceptional training opportunities and practical experience with leading architectural firms in France as part of their participation in the 2024 Cityscape Global Exhibition.
The commission stated that this initiative aligns with its mission to promote excellence in architecture and design, build strategic partnerships with leading organizations, and empower local talents. The CPD initiative includes a comprehensive training program aimed at supporting professionals in the sector by enhancing their skills and professional output. Participants will benefit from regular educational hours annually, provided through formal and informal learning opportunities.
The commission invited interested individuals to register via the following link: https://backyard-exp.typeform.com/adc-cpd. It emphasized that the collaboration with AFEX reflects ongoing efforts to provide Saudi talents with valuable international experience and exposure to leading firms in France.
During the Cityscape Global Exhibition, which concluded on Friday, the commission signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Retal Urban Development Company. The agreement includes collaboration on training and professional development for architects and designers, organizing workshops with architecture and design experts, and sponsoring competitions, awards, conferences, forums, and lectures. These initiatives will adhere to applicable regulations and procedures.
The MoU also seeks to incorporate the values and principles of the King Salman Charter for Architecture and Urbanism into future projects.
