Manga Productions Launches Saudi Dialects Dubbing Contest to Empower Local Talent
Manga Productions, a subsidiary of the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk), has officially launched its new initiative, the Saudi Dialects Dubbing Contest, aimed at empowering Saudi voice talent and showcasing the richness and diversity of local dialects, in line with the company’s commitment to developing creative local content that meets global standards and reflects the Kingdom’s cultural identity.
The contest features selected clips from Asateer2: Future’s Folktales, which was broadcast across five continents and streamed on eight international platforms, garnering over 150 million views and winning the Saudi Media Forum Award for Best Media and Communication Campaign. It showcases Saudi identity by highlighting regional dialects through weekly digital challenges, encouraging community engagement via social media. Manga Productions seeks to enhance participants’ voice acting skills with expert training and offers top talents opportunities in future projects.
Creative Director Sara Oulddaddah stated the Saudi Dialects Dubbing Contest reflects Manga Productions’ commitment to supporting local talent and celebrating the Kingdom’s cultural diversity. She explained that Asateer2: Future’s Folktales was chosen for its rich storytelling and strong cultural themes, offering participants a unique platform to showcase their voice acting skills across various dialects and share Saudi Arabia's unique identity with wider audiences.
Marketing and Communications Director at Manga Productions Abdulaziz Almowani also commented that Saudi Arabia’s rich culture and diverse dialects are reflected in the Saudi Dialects Dubbing Contest, one of Manga Productions’ leading projects. He noted that the contest demonstrates the Kingdom’s beauty and provides young Saudi talents with a valuable opportunity to express their creativity through meaningful projects.
Last year, Manga Productions launched the successful Arabic Dubbing Contest, which attracted over 1,800 participants and garnered more than 15 million views across the Arab world. The campaign highlighted growing enthusiasm for voice acting and culminated in a special event featuring prominent Arabic dubbing figures, including Jihad Al-Atrash, Sanaa Bakr Younis, Suad Jawad, and Saudi actor Ibrahim Al-Hassawi, all of whom contributed to Asateer2: Future’s Folktales.
Through contests like these, Manga Productions reaffirms its dedication to supporting Saudi talent and developing locally rooted creative content that reflects the diversity of Saudi society while resonating with regional and international audiences alike.
