GCA Launches 'ARABOSAI Certified Auditor' Program

General Court of Audit (GCA) President Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Alangari yesterday launched the ARABOSAI Certified Auditor (ACA) program, developed and implemented by the GCA's Saudi Center for Financial and Performance Auditing (SCFPA). The initiative was proposed by GCA as part of its chairmanship of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), which extends through 2028.

Dr. Alangari emphasized the importance of this pioneering program — the first of its kind in the Arab world — highlighting its role in building capacities and enhancing professional competencies in the fields of accounting and auditing. The program aims to foster a highly skilled Arab professional community capable of conducting public sector audits in accordance with the highest international standards and best professional practices.

He also reaffirmed GCA's commitment to sharing its extensive auditing expertise and contributing added value to ARABOSAI and its counterpart institutions across the Arab region.

The first cohort of the program comprises around 20 auditors from various Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in the Arab world. Participants must complete 265 training hours delivered by SCFPA, covering three audit disciplines: accrual-based financial auditing, compliance auditing, and performance auditing.

A total of 135 specialized topics will be delivered using multiple competency-based learning methods, including hands-on practice, self-paced learning, interactive workshops, and examinations.

Through this program, GCA seeks to enhance the professional capacity and performance of auditors across Arab SAIs, enabling them to meet international requirements and align with evolving global trends in auditing and accounting. The initiative also supports the implementation of the SAI Performance Measurement Framework (SAI-PMF), promoting sustainable institutional developmen
